Explore the new exhibition at the Smithsonian's American History Museum with the Harvard Club. Then join us for brunch at José Andrés's award-winning Mexican restaurant, Oyamel.

September 15th to October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States, and we think all our members and their families will have a wonderful time exploring the history of Latinos in the US at the Smithsonian Institute American History Museum's special exhibit, ¡Presente! This interactive gallery houses a variety of objects, recordings, data, and other materials that allow visitors a peek into just a few of the many stories that comprise the Latino experience. Currently housed in the Molina Family Latino Gallery, the exhibition is a fascinating preview of what we can hope to see in the forthcoming National Museum of the American Latino, currently under development.



Meet-up location: We'll meet by the fountain in front of the Constitution Avenue entrance to the museum at 11:30am.

After exploring the exhibit: We'll take a 15 minute walk over to Oyamel. Here, you can choose the brunch that's right for you, whether that's a sweet chocolate-and-cinnamon concha or hearty huevos enfrijolados (and maybe a blood orange and chili mimosa on the side?) Peruse the menu and get hungry here. Please make sure to RSVP, so that we reserve a large enough table!

Vaccination/Safety Requirements:

All registrants are required to be vaccinated. Please be prepared to provide proof of vaccination on site. If you have recently tested positive or have symptoms, please do not attend this event. The Club encourages attendees to wear masks indoors when not eating or drinking, especially when social distance cannot be maintained.
