Meanwhile, the film documents the peaceful aspects of Islam to help people understand that not all Islam and not all Africa are terroristic.
BRIEF BIO:
After graduating with the Harvard College Class of of1955, Ed spent two years in the Army, followed by 18 years as a State Department Foreign Service Officer. His first post was Senegal. He left the Foreign Service to accept the position of legislative director for Senator Max Baucus, a position he held for five years. This was followed by 25 years as a language school owner in the DC area and in Japan, Mongolia and Vietnam. The process of establishing the school in Hanoi led to an interest in documentary film production (Santis Productions LLC), which has become his primary focus to this day. He has produced films on Vietnam (the war's aftermath), Thailand (elephant Polo), Mongolia (the mining industry and a second film on saving the Tuvan culture ) and now on Senegal. In 2014, he also established The Ed Nef Foundation, dedicated to providing assistance to needy causes or individuals here and abroad.
A buffet reception featuring Senegalese food prepared by the maître d'hôtel of the Embassy of the Republic of Senegal will conclude the evening.
