River Clean-up with the Harvard Club During HAA's Global Month of Service - FREE

The Harvard Club is lending a hand with various community groups and organizations in April. One of our efforts involves Potomac River clean-up. Our Club’s participation will be along the C&O Canal Towpath at the Anglers Inn location in Potomac, MD.

 

 

 

APRIL 11th RIVER CLEAN-UP – LOOKING FOR HELPERS

 

In conjunction with the Harvard Alumni Association's Global Month of Service, the Harvard Club of Washington, DC, is lending a hand with various community groups and other organizations in April.  One of our efforts involves Potomac River clean-up. Our Club’s participation will be along the C&O Canal Towpath at the Anglers Inn location in Potomac, MD.

Highlights:           

            - April 11, 2015, 9:00 – 12:00 noon

            - For this particular event, HCW has slots for 8 volunteers (the locale has 20 total).

            - Participants must bring signed “waiver forms” to the April 11th clean-up event.

            

Following the clean-up, the HCW participants -- AND others welcome! -- plan to convene at the Hunter’s Inn in nearby Potomac Center, from about 1:00 – 3:00 pm.   There we can discuss such topics as black holes, canal transportation economics,National Park Service maintenance policies, Deuteronomy, riverside ecology, springtime birding, etc.
