Watershed Clean-up Day at Huntley Meadows Park
This is a Fairfax County wide Watershed Clean-up Day. Friends of Huntley Meadows Park will be sponsoring the clean-up at Huntley Meadows on Saturday, October 18, 2014 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
We will help clear out the earth’s arteries by collecting tires, bed springs, bottles, cans and other debris. Give the waterways in your community a clean bill of health and earn the gratitude of your furred, feathered and scaled neighbors. Wear boots, old clothes and bring gloves. Trash bags and appreciation provided. This is a great community project!
Volunteers should meet at the main parking lot of Huntley Meadows Park by 9 am. Older children are welcome, but children under 16 years old must be supervised by adults, as the clean-up will take place along a stream and a busy road with traffic.
To sign up for this event, please call the park directly at 703-768-2525, indicate you are interested in the clean-up on October 18, and provide them with your name and phone number. The Park needs contact information from each individual volunteer.
