Prof. Sheryll Cashin HLS '89 on Future Directions for Affirmative Action
The Harvard Black Alumni Society, DC Chapter, has invited us to hear Prof. Cashin of Georgetown Law, author of " Place, Not Race: A New Vision of Opportunity in America"
The Harvard Black Alumni Society, DC Chapter, invites you to a discussion on Thursday, May 29, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. with Georgetown Law Professor and Harvard Law School alumna Sheryll Cashin about future directions for affirmative action as discussed in her book, Place, Not Race: A New Vision of Opportunity in America. Professor Cashin will speak about her book and her research and will answer questions from attendees. She proposes new "place-based" rather than "race-based" policies for affirmative action. Our conversation will address the recent Supreme Court decision to uphold Michigan's ban on affirmative action.
See Professor Cashin on ABC This Week as George Stephanopoulos asks about her book and the recent Supreme Court ruling (the full discussion and story can be found here).
