A Dinner Conversation with Peter Biche, CFO for Wizards/Capitals, Penn Alum

Mr. Peter Biche serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, LLC. Mr. Biche served as President of Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer at Washington Sports and Entertainment LP since July 2007.
 
Mr. Biché oversaw all sales and marketing activities at Washington Sports, including ticket sales, corporate marketing, executive seating, customer service and game operations. He was responsible for all financial functions including ... corporate financing, accounting, budgeting, insurance, and tax matters In addition to these duties, he was responsible for managing relationships with Washington Sports’ general and limited partners on financial, tax and other matters, as well as with numerous professional advisors including investment banking, legal, accounting, tax and insurance. He oversees a staff of more than 80 people.
 
Significant undertakings since Mr. Biché joined Washington Sports include the refinancing of the Washington Sports & Entertainment enterprise; redevelopment efforts for the former Capital Centre site into a 500,000 square foot retail/entertainment complex and subsequent sale of the complex; oversight of the financial aspects of the planning/development/construction of Verizon Center; and the sale of the Washington Capitals, Washington Mystics and a minority interest in Washington Sports to an investment group.
 
Prior to joining Washington Sports & Entertainment in 1996, Mr. Biché spent 15 years as an investment banker in New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia. As an investment banker, he advised on mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, and other corporate finance activities. He was particularly active with corporations in the media, communications, entertainment, and sports industries. He is on the Board of Trustees/Directors for The Key School, The Children’s Theater of Annapolis, The National Sports Education Foundation, Washington Sports & Entertainment Charities and several private companies.
 
Mr. Biché received a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
