The Cornell Club of Washington is pleased to host the Ivy Singles Social Club March Event at the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia. We will be the guests of Ambassador Zoran Jolevski.

Join us for an evening of exceptional company and conversation. Reception will offer heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

The Embassy is located in the historic Sheridan-Kalorama Area in a building known as the Moses House. This historic property began the transformation of Sheridan-Kalorama from a rural forest to one of the elite residential areas of the U.S. Capital. In 1893, Thomas Franklin Schneider designed the house for the family of W.H. Moses, owner of arenowned furniture and carpet store. In 1925 it was redesigned to its current neo-classical appearance.Moses House served as a French Embassy and Chancery from the 1940s until 1984. An interesting tale related to this house is portrayed in Danielle Steel’s bestseller "Crossings" concerning the pre-World War II activities of the French Ambassador who worked and resided here at the time. After the French Embassy sold the property, it remained vacant and the building physically deteriorated.The Republic of Macedonia acquired the property and initiated an extensive renovation in 2004. On October 26, 2005, it opened as the new home of the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in Washington D.C., as well as the residence for the Ambassador.

Transportation: The Embassy is located just off Connecticut Avenue, about 3/4 of a mile from each of the Dupont Circle or Woodley Park Metro Stations. There is street parking which, while always limited, improves after 6:30pm

Reservations: Prepay $32 - by check to Steve Piekarec, 2535 West Meredith Drive, Vienna, Virginia 22181, by Monday, March 17th. Make checks payable to "The Cornell Club of Washington" and note your school on the check.

You can also pay online (Paypal fee added) up to Wednesday, March 19th on the Cornell club site. Pay at the door - $40 - for walk-ins, email, or phone reservations.

The Ivy Singles Social Club (ISSC) is a coalition of Ivy League, Seven Sister and other prestigious schools' regional alumni associations that sponsors social activities. Our events are open to all single alumni of member schools and their guests. Most of our attendees are in their 30's, 40's or 50's. All ages are welcome.
