Randy will be discussing and showing excerpts from his current project
in progress. The Mathare Project follows the lives of a group of
orphaned children living at the Good Samaritan Children’s Home in
Nairobi, Kenya’s Mathare slum, one of the largest slums in Africa. The
footage is drawn from 21 trips to Kenya between 2001 and 2013. The
project will show the reality of growing up without parents amidst
poverty, violence, and AIDS.
