Event Description:

The American Security Project, ASP, the preeminent think tank devoted to broadening the public discourse on American security in the 21st century and the HBS Club of D.C. are proud to co-sponsor a reception for HBS professors Dr. Michael Porter and Dr. Jan Rivkin, as well as prominent military leaders, Vice Admiral Lee Gunn, President of ASP, Brigadier General Stephen A. Cheney, CEO of ASP and Lieutenant General John Castellaw, a member of ASP’s board.

This reception culminates the American Competiveness Day, a joint initiative between ASP and the HBS Club of D.C., to inform a bipartisan discourse on Capitol Hill on HBS’ U.S. Competitiveness Project and ASP’s American Competitiveness Report: An Issue of National Security.  Drawn up completely independently, the two reports share stark conclusions about the impact of America’s declining economic competitiveness, while drawing surprisingly tangible (and similar) prescriptions for the way forward.  Our speakers will be commenting on a series of meetings that will occur on July 10th reviewing their findings and recommendations with policymakers on Capitol Hill in order to enhance U.S. competitiveness and economic vitality.

This is a rare opportunity to meet the leading thinkers on competition and strategy and space is extremely limited.
