Beau Soir Ensemble in Concert at Anderson House FREE
All concerts begin at 1:30 PM and last approximately an hour. A reception with punch and cookies as well as tours of the hisoric house museum are offered following each concert.
The doors open at 1:00 and seating is on a first come, first served basis.
Children are welcome to attend.
The Beau Soir Ensemble is a flute, viola, and harp trio dedicated to the performance of standard and contemporary repertoire spanning a variety of genres. Founded in 2007 as a flute and harp ensemble, the group added a violist in 2011 to include more contemporary and diverse repertoire. Recent performances include the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage, AnDie Musik Live (Baltimore, MD), the Arts Club of Washington, Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, Church of the Epiphany (Washington DC), Westmoreland Church (Bethesda, MD), Walters Museum (Baltimore, MD), Dumbarton House (Washington, DC), Washington County Museum of Fine Arts (Hagerstown, MD) Old Town Hall (Fairfax, VA) and the Mid-Atlantic Harp Conference in 2011. They are also regularly featured performers for the Harman Center for the Arts Wednesday at Noon Series in Washington, DC.As a flute and harp duo, Beau Soir Ensemble recorded "Debut" in the summer of 2008, and a second CD, "Intermezzo", in the fall of 2009. They recorded a one hour performance for the "Hope Network" in the winter of 2008, which was aired internationally.
The ensemble premiered a chamber work by composer Christopher Dietz for viola, flute and harp in the spring of 2012, as well as new arrangements by David Miller. They look forward to performing at the Anderson House,
