In recent years, the implementation of mindfulness practice has been one of the top suggestions for improved mental and physical wellness. Indeed, research shows that mindfulness improves mood, increases positive emotion, and decreases anxiety and job burnout. Additionally, there are indications that mindfulness practice can strengthen the heart, decrease cognitive decline, improve immune response, and decrease psychological pain.
Harvard Club Member Xiaodi Chen HGSE '13, a licensed marriage and family therapist, will be leading a workshop to encourage attendees to consider the difficulty of change, forgive themselves for any setbacks they may have faced in their pursuit of self-improvement, and find new motivation in moving foward. With compassion for yourself as you face obstacles and mindfulness as your keystone habit, you are much more likely to experience other improvements in your journey to your best self.
Covid-related Safety Requirements: If you have recently tested positive or have symptoms, please do not attend this event. The Club encourages everyone to be vaccinated and boosted, and to wear masks indoors when not eating or drinking, especially when social distance cannot be maintained.
