IN PERSON: Fall Foliage Hike - Relaxed
Join HCW and Master Hiker Barbara Saffir for a relaxing hike of up to three miles through Rock Creek Park, enjoying the fall foliage.
Date: Sunday, October 30th, 2022, 8:30am
Location: Peirce Mill, 2401 Tilden St NW, Washington, DC
Hike up to three largely flat miles on paved and dirt trails through Rock Creek Park's peak (we hope!) fiery orange, red, and yellow fall foliage. We'll start at Pierce Mill (an Instagram-worthy hotspot with a history of spies), and trek along Beach Drive to scenic Boulder and Rapids bridges, where we'll pause for a snack and selfies.
Meet: 8:30am, Pierce Mill, 2401 Tilden St NW, Washington, DC
Metro: The closest Metro is Van Ness-UDC.
IMPORTANT: Please do not attend if you have balance problems or you'll have trouble keeping up with the group. No pets or young children. We'll hike at a slow to moderate pace with several stops. Please wear hiking shoes that can safely handle potentially slippery asphalt trails and some mud.
Bring: Water, a snack, and a fully charged cell phone. Optional: camera and/or binoculars.
