The Changing Roles of Women in Academic Leadership Women continue to carve a path to the top of academic leadership in major colleges and universities. What are the challenges they have faced, and what changes have taken place in roles, expectations, opportunities, and obstacles for women in academic leadership? A panel of college presidents will discuss what it took to succeed and the future challenges for women in academia.
Moderated by Donne Kampel, associate dean of faculty, Touro College, and author of Learning Leadership: Women Presidents of Colleges and Universities. Panelists include Ruth J. Simmons, president of Brown University; Teresa A. Sullivan, president of the University of Virginia; Catharine Bond Hill, president of Vassar College; and H. Kim Bottomly, President of Wellesley College.
