About the artist:
Award winning Romanian pianist Silvan Negru?iu has given solo, chamber music and concerto performances across Europe, in the United States of America and Japan. He is a laureate of numerous international piano competitions, including the "Roma 2000" in Italy and the "Konzerteum" in Greece. He is also a frequent attendee and performer at international music festivals in New York, Colorado, Holland, Romania and Ireland. For his concert career, Silvan was awarded the "Gaiety Bursary" in 2009, the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research "Award of Excellence" in 2002, and the "Eugen Barbu" Award for Performing Activity in 2001. He graduated from the National University of Music in Bucharest, Romania and obtained his Master Degree Diploma from the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Dublin City University in Dublin, Ireland. Currently he is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate, as well as a Piano Teaching Assistant at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA, under the guidance of internationally acclaimed pianist and pedagogue John O’Conor.
