Harvard Club dinner in Old Town Alexandria, VA

Monday June 11 @ 7:00pm

The Light Horse Restaurant, 715 King Street

4 courses (New England-themed, each with a beer or cider pairing) for $40 (excluding tax and tip)

Please join fellow Harvard Club members for a New England-themed dinner at the Light Horse Restaurant (http://www.thelighthorserestaurant.com/) in Old Town Alexandria on Monday June 11. Past Presidents David Treworgy (2008-10) and Mike Gaw (2006-08) attended a beer dinner here a few months ago and loved it. They spoke to the owner and asked if the Light Horse could do something similar for the Harvard Club. He agreed to close down the ground floor for us one evening, and came up with this prix fixe dinner:

Harvard “stuffies”/Harpoon IPA

Rhode Island seafood chowder/Long Trail Double Bag Ale

Pork and Beantown/Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale

Cider panna cotta/Angry Orchard Cider

All four courses for $40 (excluding tax and tip).

The Light Horse is located at 715 King Street, right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, VA. It is about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the King Street Metro. You can also take the free trolley that runs up and down King Street, between the Metro station and the river, which comes every 15 minutes. Because every course comes with a beer or cider pairing, the Harvard Club strongly suggests that you do not drive to this event.

If you wish to register, please contact the restaurant directly at lighthorseprivatedining@gmail.com or 703-549-0533. Do not register by contacting the Harvard Club. There is no registration fee; all payments will be handled by the restaurant on the night. We anticipate a full house, so if you must cancel, please let the restaurant know as far in advance as possible so others can take your place. Non-Harvard guests are welcome at the same $40 price, but please exercise your discretion here, as we’d like as many Harvard folks to be able to attend as possible.

If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact the restaurant and they can work out an alternate menu for you.

Seating begins at 7:00; the first course will be served at 7:30. So come a little early and mingle with other Harvard Club members. And again, please don’t drive.
