Please join us at the Arts Club of Washington for a screening of this fascinating new BBC production.  The one-hour film explores exciting new developments in the archaeology of Neolithic Europe.  Site director Nick Card, a distinguished Scottish archaeologist, has worked for eight years at the Ness of Brodgar, a windswept peninsula on Mainland Orkney, uncovering the most remarkable evidence to date of Neolithic ceremonial complexity.  The site, which ancient people used for over 1,000 years, beginning in about 3,000 BC, preceded Stonehenge and Avebury and may well have set standards for sacred sites throughout all of the British Isles.  This site was named the 2011 Current Archaeology Research Project of the Year in a ceremony at The British Museum.
