Prepare Sandwiches for Martha's Table
Join fellow members of the Harvard Club in helping prepare sandwiches for Martha's Table. This event is co-sponsored by the University of Virginia Club of Washington DC and the KIPP College Prep (KCP) National Honor Society. The event will take place on Saturday, March 30th from 10:30am to 12:30pm in the KCP- KIPP Through College Conference Room.
Bring the family together to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to support Martha’s Table, a non-profit organization in Washington, DC that serves communities in need. Children as young as six years old can get involved in creating sandwiches that will be used at Martha’s Table’s family and early childhood programs. Help us meet our goal to assemble 400 sandwiches in 2 hours! In addition to volunteering your time to prepare healthy meals for Martha's Table, this is also an opportunity to meet high school students and encourage them in the early phases of the the college process.
Martha's Table is an organization that has worked for over 35 years to support stronger children, stronger families, and stronger communities by addressing emergency needs with healthy food and clothing programs, and working to ensure a bright future for children and families through quality education programs and family support services. The sandwiches you make will be distributed on McKenna’s Wagon, a volunteer-run, mobile food truck, which rolls out 365 days a year to provide hot, nutritious evening meals, sandwiches, fruit, and fresh-baked muffins to hundreds of homeless and hungry neighbors in need at three locations across the city every night.
