autumnal_hikeAutumnal Hike: Fiery Foliage, Awesome Architecture and Spies - FREE

This 3+ mile out-and-back hike will begin at Peirce Mill and wind through Rock Creek Park. This event is limited to Harvard Club members and their guests.

Hike roughly 3 miles through the flaming fall foliage of Rock Creek Park, starting at a former spy hideaway (Peirce Mill) to a cache of abandoned stone blocks from the U.S. Capitol.  Along the way, we'll trek by the postcard-perfect Boulder Bridge and cross Rapids Bridge, which marks the capital's geological fall line.

The hike will be led by Barbara J. Saffir, author of "Walking Washington, DC." She is a certified Sierra Club hike leader; a marathon "plodder;" a Master Naturalist trainee; and a passionate wildlife photographer.

Please wear comfortable hiking  or other "grippy" shoes because some of the trails are hilly and rocky.  Also, bring your own water.
