Where:The University of the District of Columbia Student Center, Van Ness Campus | 4200 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20008   

About the Event: Higher Ed is the pathway out of poverty. The need for community engagement to promote new innovative ways to foster a culture of college bound youth is critical. This event will continue the focus on why Black high school students must see higher education as a necessary and worthy goal that is in reach.

Bringing multiple groups together who are passionate about the development of the next generation is ideal. The organizations working on this event have been steadfast in the their work to make sure the DC community is informed and engaged. Black History Month is the perfect time to have a conversation about how education has helped to create a Black middle class.
