IN PERSON: Wildlife Photography Hike

Join Barbara Saffir, Hiking Master & Award-Winning Wildlife Photographer, at Huntley Meadows

Date: Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, from 9:00am-12:00pm

Location: 3701 Lockheed Blvd, Alexandria, Virginia

Amble through the DMV's premiere nature photography wetland to hunt for birds and beasts -- from statuesque Great Blue Herons to itsy-bitsy green treefrogs with gold racing stripes and sticky feet (like their exotic Amazonian cousins).  Wildlife photographer and certified Virginia Master Naturalist Barbara Saffir will share photo and nature tips on the safari. Photographers will hike for roughly two miles along a boardwalk and flat, dirt trails with multiple stops.

From newbies with cell phones to advanced photographers with Lamborghini-level cameras, all are welcome. (Long lenses work best for capturing birds.)

IMPORTANT: As this event requires a permit, there is a $5.00 charge per person, and no refunds are possible. The tour is strictly limited to 15 participants. NO DOGS ALLOWED.

BRING/WEAR: hat, bug spray (for mosquitos and ticks), sunblock, shoes that won't slip on potentially wet boardwalk trails.

MEET: 9 a.m. in front of the visitor center
