The Pen Arts Building (https://www.nlapw.org/pen-arts-building/) is an elegant Victorian mansion located in Washington’s Dupont Circle neighborhood. It was the favorite mansion on the 48th Annual Dupont Circle House Tour. The twenty-room, Washington Troubadour mansion was designed as a private residence for opera singer Sarah Whittemore (her next home was Whittemore House, home of the Woman’s National Democratic Club). One of the later residents was Todd Lincoln, son of President Abraham Lincoln.
The National League of American Pen Women is a nonprofit organization of professional women in arts, letters, and music that was founded in 1897. Its mission is to support and promote creative excellence and professional standards among women in the arts.

Metro/parking: The Pen Arts Club is at 17th and N Streets NW. Closest Metros are Farragut North and DuPont Circle on the Red Line and Farragut West on the Orange, Silver, and Blue Lines. For those driving, there are parking garages nearby, and street parking, while always limited, improves after 6:30. If you use a parking garage, make sure it does not close too early.
