Volunteer at a Smithsonian Sleepover

Join fellow members of the Harvard Club in helping lead the exploration of Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History for a crowd of 8-12 year olds (and their chaperones) on Friday, November 2nd from 6:00pm to 11:15pm. Volunteers will encourage and inspire these kids by leading creative learning activities at various stations throughout the museum.

The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History is dedicated to understanding the natural world and our place in it. From the fascinating story of our planet from its fiery beginnings through billions of years of transformation to different forms life on Earth, this museum is larger than 18 football fields and home to the largest natural history collection in the world. This event gives children the opportunity to spend a "Night at the Museum" and explore the many museum halls, with arts and crafts activities, demonstrations, and games. Each volunteer will be assigned to one of these activities to lead throughout the night.

Volunteers will receive a T-shirt with the official mascot logo, Henry the Elephant, to wear during this exciting evening.

Volunteers must be at least 20 years old and some lifting (up to 15 lbs) will be required. You will get to go home and sleep in your own bed, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you helped these children enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they will never forget!
