Volunteer at a Smithsonian Sleepover
Join Harvard Club volunteers in leading a scavenger hunt style exploration of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History for a crowd of 8-12 year olds (and their chaperones) on Friday, October 19th from 6:00pm to 11:15pm . Volunteers will encourage and inspire these kids by leading creative learning activities at various stations throughout the museum.
The Smithsonian National Museum of American History traces the American experience from colonial times to the present and contains more than three million historical objects and documents that explore the evolution of American identity. This event gives children the opportunity to spend a "Night at the Museum" and participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the museum exploring its 2 floors, with arts and crafts, demonstrations, and games. Each volunteer will be assigned to one of these activities to lead throughout the night.
Volunteers must be at least 20 years old and some lifting (up to 15 lbs) will be required. You will get to go home and sleep in your own bed, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you helped these children enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they will never forget! Please click the button below to start the registration process. You will be contacted by the event coordinator with additional instructions to complete your registration. Registration closes on 10/16.
