SANDWICH Making PROJECT FOR SOME and Martha's Table

Join fellow members of the Harvard Club in helping prepare sandwiches for So Others Might East (SOME) and Martha's Table.  Our goal is to assemble at least 400 sandwiches to help these organizations feed our neighbors.  This event will take place on Saturday, May 13th from 1 to 3 pm at the Kipp DC Prep School - Kipp Through College Conference Room.  Closest metro stop is NoMa-Gallaudet U New York Ave (Red Line).

SOME is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation’s capital. SOME meets the immediate daily needs of the people we serve with food, clothing, and health care. SOME helps break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness. Each day, SOME is restoring hope and dignity one person at a time.

martha_tableMartha's Table is an organization that has worked for over 35 years to support stronger children, stronger families, and stronger communities by addressing emergency needs with healthy food and clothing programs, and working to ensure a bright future for children and families through quality education programs and family support services. The sandwiches you make will be distributed on McKenna’s Wagon, a volunteer-run, mobile food truck, which rolls out 365 days a year to provide hot, nutritious evening meals, sandwiches, fruit, and fresh-baked muffins to hundreds of homeless and hungry neighbors in need at three locations across the city every night.
