Wine Tasting with Michelle Petree, the General Manager of Arrowine

Cheese and charcuterie plate and passed hors d'oeuvres will accompany the tasting.

Hosted by Restaurant RIS

Join us for a wine tasting with Michelle Petree, the General Manager of Arrowine.  Michelle will lead us in tasting a wide variety of eight French wines specially selected for us.

Michelle Petree started in the wine business, as so many of them do, through restaurants. She worked with famed restaurants Oyamel in Washington DC and critically acclaimed Restaurant Eve in Alexandria VA. Her passion for wine brought her to Arrowine 5 years ago. There she developed and educated herself from the best in the business. Now Michelle is the General Manager of Arrowine's newest location, Arrowine & Spirits DC.

Michelle has traveled extensively over the past few years to France, Portugal, Germany, and even the Netherlands to expand her palate and knowledge. She has passed the Wine Education & Spirits Trusts (WSET) Advanced Level 3 in 2013.

Cheese and charcuterie platter and passed hors d'oeuvres including gougères warm Gruyère cheese puffs; chimichurri hanger steak skewers; and goat cheese, fig and olive crostini will accompany our tasting of eight specially selected French wines.

Members and their guests - $50.

Nonmembers - $75.

Arrowine is a "neighborhood" store with a national reputation.  They taste between 400 and 600 wines a month to select the best wines and wine values for their customers.  They travel to the wineries to hand select the finest, most memorable wines -- from the best-known wineries to the most obscure, but enchanting, family-farmed vineyards.  Arrowine carries hard-to-find wines with character and uniqueness that speak of the place that they were grown.  They are about wines that offer "real value."  They support artisan wine makers, organic agriculture and hand harvesting.

RIS is an upscale neighborhood restaurant serving seasonal American cuisine.   Executive chef/owner Ris Lacoste is one of the most respected and dedicated chefs working in Washington, DC.  She has been a fixture in the DC culinary scene for almost two decades and is known for her commitment for community involvement.  RIS food blends high quality market fresh produce, grass fed meats, and regional seafood with innovative technique to create both familiar classics and bold original dishes.

The kitchen at Restaurant RIS opens at 5:00 pm and will still be open after the wine tasting, so if you wish to sample more great food before or after the tasting the restaurant would be happy to accommodate you.
