We will meet Congressman Himes on the steps on the S.E. corner of the U.S. Capitol. The steps are on the east side of the building across the street from the Jefferson building of the Library of Congress.

Join us on a special tour of the Capitol and reception with Congressman Jim Himes (A.B. ’88).
The Congressman will be our guide for the tour. HCW will host a reception for him to share his views about current political developments and he will be happy to entertain questions.
During the private reception and discussion with Congressman Himes following the tour, we will enjoy a variety of hors d’oeuvres and wine or another beverage of your choice at Restaurant Béarnaise.

Biography
Congressman Himes represents Connecticut’s 4th District in the United States House of Representatives where he is serving his fourth term. He is a member of the House Committee on Financial Services and serves as the ranking member of the NSA and Cybersecurity Subcommittee of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Prior to his service in Congress, Congressman Himes ran the New York City branch of The Enterprise Community Partners, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing the unique challenges of urban poverty. His experience at Enterprise spurred his involvement in politics in Greenwich, CT. He became Chair of the Greenwich Housing Authority and later was elected to the town’s finance board.
The Congressman began his professional career at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he worked extensively in Latin America and headed the bank’s telecommunications technology group.
Born in Lima, Peru in 1966 to American parents, the Congressman spent the early years of his childhood in Peru and Colombia while his father worked for the Ford Foundation and UNICEF. He moved with mother and sisters to the United States when he was ten and is fluent in Spanish.
Congressman Himes lives in Greenwich with his wife Mary and two daughters Emma and Linley. He is a Rhodes Scholar and graduated from Harvard College.
