Bloomsday : A Celebratory Reading of Highlights from Ulysses organized by clubmember Bob Kolodney

BLOOMSDAY BY OLLI

A Celebratory Reading of Highlights from Ulysses by Readers from

the Osher Lifetime Learning Institute

This will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm

at the Tenley-Friendship Library

(located at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Albermarle Street NW near Tenleytown METRO)

cash bar cast party to follow event at BTS accross Wisconsin Avenue from the library

New Development/Guest Reader:

Robert Aubry Davis

will read the third episode of Ulysses (Proteus)

This event is open to the public.  We will be joining groups all over the world to pay homage to James Joyce and to savor his handiwork. The pleasure of tasting forbidden fruit lingers since Ulysses was once banned in English-speaking countries and a gathering such as ours in Washington DC would have been on the hot side of the law during the decade from 1923 to 1933.
