Class Size:  This workshop is intensely hands-on. In order to give all participants the personal attention they need and deserve the limit is 18 students..

Description of the workshop: Decorate your celebratory table with knitted flowers of lasting beauty.  Combine multiple flowers to embellish felted or fabric pillows with exquisite bouquets of your own creation, or decorate the top of a gift box in a way that is as beautiful as the gift itself.

In this class, students will learn to make a simple knitted flower(s) to use as embellishments for bags, gifts, garments, shoes, afghans and more. In addition, students will be encouraged to explore their own creative impulses in combining different flowers together for unique results.

The class focuses on learning the foundational techniques used in virtually every flower in Nora Bellows’s book Noni Flowers.  Skills covered include how to work in the round on multiple needles in order to knit the flower all-in-one-piece. The class will conclude with how to finish the flowers, wire them, embellish them for stunning results, and then to use them as embellishments in different ways on multiple canvases.

Students’ Needed Experience: Participants must be comfortable knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, working in the round on double pointed needles, and have control of tension.
